|BOSTON, MA, USA MEETING WITH DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER H.E. MR. ADDISU LEGESSE
AND AMHARA STATE GOVERNOR HON. MR. AYALEW GOBESE
MEETING REPORT BY GEBRESELASSIE
The arrival of the Deputy Prime Minister, H.E. Mr. Addisu Legesse, was a joyous occasion for Boston. The defected CUD Boston thought that they could spoil the event but little did they know that the mind of EPRDF Boston is much smarter! When we arrived at the venue for the meeting, there was a crowd of 20-30 CUD supporters in front of the entrance, guarded by Massachusetts State Police and the US Secret Service. Some opposition supporters went in and took seats, already chanting prior to His Excellency’s arrival. Once the Deputy Prime Minister arrived, the whole opposition crowd came stampeding in like a bunch of cattle, yelling “Addisu…Leba…Addisu…Leba, etc.” They also came chanting “Mot le Woyane…Mot le Addisu.” It was the most undemocratic behavior I have ever personally witnessed.
The Deputy Prime Minister, Ato Addisu Legesse, was very patient; and even at some points laughing at the opposition. He knew that all they were was a bunch of garbage for calling a man, Meles Zenawi’s right hand man, who has slept and fought for Ethiopia, Leba and Banda. Addisu Legesse then became very impatient as well as Ato Hailekiros Gebreegziabiher, EPRDF Boston’s Head. Then, Ato Hailekiros told the Secret Service to kick out all the guests, and their chief said that at that moment, all Ethiopians were violating federal law and were trespassing. So, the State Police kicked out all Ethiopians, regardless of being an EPRDF or CUD supporter. Finally, we, in the EPRDF came up with a decisive plan. For our benefit, we decided to leave and look like we lost. At that moment the CUD supporters were very excited and were happy.
Little did these idiots know that they were in for a treat! We ended up leaving the venue that was originally intended, for the hotel that Addisu was staying at. We used a relatively small venue at the hotel. No body knew where we were and what we were up to besides our EPRDF people. The door and area was guarded by the Secret Service of the US, and there was no state police. We had a two hour meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister. Unfortunately, these lunatic idiotic Ethiopians didn’t know where we were and claimed “victory.” They didn’t screw our day, but certainly changed it. Ato Ayalew Gobeze, Amhara’s Governor, did not give us a PowerPoint presentation on Amhara development in the last 15 years as it was expected. However, Ato Addisu talked about a variety of issues; ranging from Somalia, Eritrea, Amhara development, the economy, the elections and the CUD.
Ato Addisu talked about how CUD was a broken organization. He told us that there were many CUDs around, from CUD International to CUD North America and CUD Europe. He said that they were all divided and didn’t have a common cause like us, the EPRDF! Those CUD supporters didn’t want us to go into the original venue because they knew that if we went and learned from Addisu, that we would be exposed to the truth. All those donkeys want is for us to be exposed to their mountains of lies and garbage. But we, the EPRDF and democracy supporters, are smarter and brighter than they think. CUD doesn’t know anything about democracy…first, they lack the experience and secondly, it was them who screwed up Ethiopia for the past 100 years! Whether it is Menelik II, Haile Selassie I or Mengistu Hailemariam; these three are CUD Gods. The Amhara Chauvinists idolize them…and I wouldn’t be surprised if they prayed to them. The CUD needs to understand that crying in front of the state department or wishing a government official death won’t change anything. They don’t understand that the country is progressing and that the diaspora is not needed and not wanted in Ethiopia.
The truth of the matter is that the EPRDF has done well, is doing well and will continue to do well! The EPRDF is like the Jesus Christ of Ethiopian politics! (Without any offense to any religion, of course). The EPRDF has committed itself and has demonstrated that with patience, rigor, law, democracy, faith/trust and their unconditional desire to see Ethiopia grow!!
Other people that were with H.E. Mr. Addisu Legesse we Hon. Mr. Ayalew Gobeze, Amhara Governor, Hon. Mr. Mulie Tareken, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Ethiopian Embassy in Washington, DC and a representative of ADA (Amhara Development Association), a rep. from the Amhara Economic bureau and a Ministry of Foreign Affairs agent. Others from the Amhara State Parliament (legislative body) had also accompanied the DPM, as they were representing the Amhara Nation Democratic Movement (ANDM, a founding member of the EPRDF – ANDM/EPRDF).
