Miss Gibraltar takes home Miss World 2009 crown

Gibraltar's Kaiane Aldorino won the 2009 Miss Worldcrown at a glittering ceremony here on Saturday, defeating 111 contestants from across the world but Miss India Pooja Chopra disappointed by failing to make it to the final round.
An HR Clerk by profession, the 22-year old blonde brought her country the Miss World title for the first time.
"Thank you South Africa, this is the most wonderful moment of my life," said Aldorino with tears in her eyes.
She joined seven other contestants in the final round of the show. The loudest cheers were reserved for Miss South Africa, Tatum Keshwar who was the second runner-up.
"I will try to do the best that I can now that I have opportunity and advantage," she said in a brief interview with The Associated Press after the event. Wearing her crown of tiny jeweled blue flowers, Aldorino said had been impressed with South Africa, which was hosting its seventh Miss World final.
Lula Gezu Weldegebriel represented Ethiopia at the miss world 2009 at the two-hour pageant held in Johannesburg, South Africa on Saturday.
Lula Gezu was crowned Miss World Ethiopia 2009 in a beauty pageant held on August 15 at the Hilton Hotel in Addis Ababa. She stands 1.77m tall and a sophomore psychology student at Mekele University from Addis Ababa. Lula Gezu was awarded a Diamond ring worth 60,000 ETB from Zoskales Dimond.
Lula Gezu is young, beautiful and elegant young lady. She is driven enough to know what she wants out of life and this exposure to the world stage would be a great sprnig board for her.
