The Addis Ababa Djibouti Railway mega project is about to be completed
Tigrai Online, Ethiopian News, Sept. 15, 2016
The Addis Ababa–Djibouti Railway is a standard gauge railway that links Addis Ababa with the port of Djibouti. The project started in 2011 and it is nearly completed. The Addis Ababa–Djibouti Railway is expected to open in October 2016.
The mega railway project is planned to help manufacturing companies in Ethiopia to easily access world markets and massively boost trade of the country in general. The Railway is 800 kilometers, and it was built by the China Railway Corporation at a cost of $ 3.5 Billion dollars.
Ethiopia is building multiple mega projects in the energy, transportation, and farming sectors to transform its economy and make itself a middle income country in the near future. Recently arch enemies Eritrea and Egypt sponsored unrest in north western Ethiopia made a blemish in the amazing transformation taking place in Ethiopia.
The Ethiopian people expect those responsible to be brought to face the law of the land.
