For the last few weeks of May there have been reports about fighting between Ethiopia and Eritrea in the Badme area. Tigrai Online has an article under http://www.tigraionline.com/articles/article120642.html The Badme story: What is going on between Ethiopia and Eritrea?

The story was between May 25 and 26, 2012 the Eritrean army attacked Ethiopian positions possibly to retaliate for the Ethiopian attacks in March 2012 however, the Ethiopian defense forces not only repelled the attack but they pushed deep down to Eritrean territories and captured some strategic areas. According to several reports from many Eritrean and Ethiopian news outlets there was huge fighting in the wstern border of the countries.

Now there is un deniable pictorial evidence that shows some of the Eritrean prisoners of war from the May 2012 clashes.  Neither the Eritrean, nor the Ethiopian governments would officially acknowledge the fighting. We know both governments have their own good reasons not to go public.
