Tigrai Online, Oct. 15, 2012
The controversial Eritrean scholar Professor Tesfatsion Medhanie on his latest YouTube video lecture accused the Eritrean President Isayass Afeworki secretly fighting for Tigrai Tigringi. He claims that Shabiya has been fighting and working with the westerners to create a greater Tigrai. According to Professor Tesfatsion the Eritrean struggle was a fake cover by EPLF leaders for the realization of Tigrai Tigrgni or Greater Tigrai. In a daring political attack on the Eritrean leadership Professor Tesfatsion said the independence of Eritrea is temporary to fool the Eritrean people until the real goal is achieved.
Why is Professor Tesfatsion accusing Shabiya with treason now? Does he know something we don’t know or he is just rumbling around from his own personal conflict with the aging Eritrean President?
He even went beyond the Eritrean borders and accused the TPLF leadership that they are working towards the same goal.
This is not the first time Professor Tesfatsion immersed himself in a political controversy. In his book titled Eritrea: dynamics of a national question (Book, 1986) Tesfazion Medhanie violently opposed the Eritrean struggle for independence.
