According to an Eritrean opposition website Assena, Eritrean Minister of Information Ali Abdu is seeking political asylum in Canada.
Ali Abdu was a fixture of the Eritrean TV for the past few years spreading the one man regime’s propaganda. Ali Abdu is a former EPLF fighter and since EPLF came to power in Eritrea he has worked in different capacity in the government.
Assena labeled him as the leader of People's Front for Democracy and Justice (PFDJ) foreign intelligence.
If this news is true, it is the beginning of the end for the President-for-life of Eritrea Isaias Afwerki and his regime.
Recently the Eritrean brutal regime has intensified it’s recruitment of forced soldiers. Reports coming from Asmara indicate that over 65 years old men are forced to carry guns. Some say the regimes leaders are scared out of their wits after Prime Minister Meles Zenawi’s death in August because he was opposed to waging all out war against Eritrea.
In a related development Hundreds of Eritrean Diaspora members of the Eritrean community from all over Europe came to Switzerland on Friday and marched towards the United Nations office at Geneva. The demonstrators asked Eritreans all over the world to help ending the brutal dictatorship in Eritrea.
