The American billionaire Bill Gates received honorary degree from Addis Ababa University. Addis Ababa University is one of the oldest state run universities in Ethiopia.
Mr. Gates was in Addis Ababa the capital of Ethiopia to receive his degree. Bill Gates received his honorary degree from the Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn. The ceremony was attended by Ethiopian Foreign Minister Dr. Tedros Adhanom, Senior government officials, Addis Ababa University President Dr. Admasu Tsegaye and other senior facility members from the University.
When the news broke on the World Wide Web a few weeks ago, the despicable Ethiopian opposition and their terrorist allies were ridiculing the idea that Bill Gates would come to Ethiopia to receive honorary degree from Addis Ababa University. It is not surprising to many Ethiopians since the opposition’s single goal is to destroy any thing that portrays Ethiopia in a positive light.
The American Billionaire is not a stranger to Ethiopia. He has visited Ethiopia on different occasions. The last time he visited Ethiopia was On March 2012 when he met the Late PM Meles Zenawi in Addis Ababa
Mr. Gates received the honorary degree in recognition of his great to help others in the world. Bill Gates gives millions of dollars of his money to charities worldwide. One of the biggest charities he founded with his wife Melinda is the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
