Eritrean delegation led by foreign minister Osman Saleh arrived in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa today.

Eritrean delegation led by foreign minister Osman Saleh arrived in Addis Ababa, Ethiopian today for dialogue with Ethiopian government.  The Eritrean delegation was received by Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed on Tuesday June 26, 2018 at Bole international Airport. Besides foreign minister Osman Saleh, included Eritrean delegation is the Head of Political Affairs and Presidential Adviser, Yemane Gebreab he is also known Isaias Afwerki’s confidant.

Eighteen years has passed since the Eritrean regime refused to sit for talks to resolve the issues between the two countries. The Eritrean government precondition for talks was first Ethiopia has to withdraw its military from the disputed areas then talks will start, but Ethiopia insisted on talking first, therefore deadlock for almost twenty years.  Finally the Eritrean government capitulated Eritrean delegation are in Addis Ababa talking to Ethiopian government officials.

This talks has nothing to do with any specific land including Badme and Tserona, instead it is about the entire border from the Sudan border to the Djiboutian border. It is also about causes of the war in the first place, the people in the border area, the buffer zone, ejecting of the peace keepers, trade, business, security, terrorism, Horn of Africa, joint development, and use of ports among other things.
