Ethiopia National Defense Forces remarkable national security achievements in the last two decades

Ethiopia National Defense Forces (ENDF) has done remarkable national security achievements in the last two decades, and successfully defeated various enemies including dictator Afawarke’s aggression against our motherland-Ethiopia. This conflict took place from May 1998 to June 2000, and concluded with a milestone victory by the brave Ethiopian forces, which have reached just 40 km away from the shores of the port city of Assab.

After the historic defeat and loss of both men and equipment, Sha’biya envisioned strategy of creating proxy war inside Ethiopia by arming local and international terrorists in order to destabilize Ethiopia. However, with the leadership of the late prime minister Meles Zenawi, and professional war game execution of the country’s military echelon, the Ethiopian army and air forces smashed all those anti-peace movements.

In additional, ENDF have been contributors of peace building throughout the world. ENDF played key role in Somalia with the aim of defeating Alshabab terrorist in Somalia as well as securing our national borders. Today, Ethiopian National Defense Forces (ENDF) has presence in South Sudan, Somalia and other conflict-ridden areas of the world.

Furthermore, Abdi Mohamud Omar who is the president of the Somali regional state in Ethiopia did an outstanding job by securing the borders of the country that it shares with Somalia.  We share an approximately 1700km border with Somalia where ALshabab and Al-Qaida affiliated group, ISIS and other regional and international terrorist organizations operate spontaneously. The Somali region’s Special Forces (LIYU POLICE) who are trained countering terrorism were able to secure that long and dangerous border with profession, affection, and patriotism.

President Abdi Mohamud Omar will be remembered with his hard work by making sure that the region is secure, stable, and is developing.  One of his achievements is the elimination of ONLF out of the Somali Regional State, which was a hard work and risk to fight.  Back then, ONLF were strong because they had a great influence s not only to their supporters but also within the government agencies personnel.

Finally, President Abdi Mohamed Omar is the father of the new DDSI (SRSE), and people of the region appreciated his leadership to lead the region into a more prosperous phase.
