A high level Ethiopian delegation drawn from the Regional states, the Federal government and from various departments in the Ministry of Education wrapped up a two-week skill up-grading courses sponsored by the World Bank in Virginia to-day.
The strong-twenty-man delegation was briefed by Ambassador Girma Birru, Special Envoy, Ambassador Extra-ordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ethiopia to the US and Resident Envoy to Canada and Mexico, of the long standing and cordial Diplomatic relations between Ethiopia and the US and North America.
The Special Envoy also apprised the guests of the all-encompassing people to people partnership that exists between Ethiopia and the North American countries he represents. Ambassador Girma during the briefing informed the delegates of the marked disparity between the perception and the reality on the ground pertaining to the actual number of the Ethiopian Diaspora presently domiciling in the US.
He also apprised the members of the delegation of the measures that have been put in place to facilitate and encourage Diaspora engagement in all ventures of national development investment and the transfer of skill, knowledge, technology networking and other enabling resources.
