The Ethiopian government said today USA government is sending FBI investigators to help Ethiopia investigate last Saturday’s Addis Ababa blast where two people lost their lives and 156 people were hurt. The incident happened at a huge rally in the capital Addis Ababa supposedly to show support the newly EPRDF appointed prime minister.
No one claimed responsibility for the blast, but 30 people are under arrest suspected to have some connection to incident.
The organizers of the rally include well known anti EPRDF/TPLF people and why does the prime minister need support? His party the EPRDF appointed him to finish the former prime minister’s term and majority Ethiopians welcomed him to their states warmly. He was not embattled or rejected by anyone including the registered opposition parties inside Ethiopia.
Another curios observation fact about the so called support and thank you demonstrations is there were sizable demonstrators in some cities in Amhara state including Gonder, Deberetabur and Desie, but there was none in Afar, Benishangul-Gumuz, Gambela, Harari, Oromia, Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples, Somali and Tigrai states. Why are the Amhara people out in full force while others are not including Oromia? We know the prime minister enjoys a healthy popularity in all the states of Ethiopia therefore there was no need to express support to the prime minister by demonstrating because the rally was called for Addis Ababa.

Meanwhile the Ethiopian federal police intercepted a truck entering the city of Addis Ababa with an illegal arms shipment yesterday. The illegal arms originated from Gonder the police report said.
Tigrai Online suggested the Ethiopian government to ask for FBI help find out who is behind the criminal act in Addis Ababa on June 23, 2018.
