Thank you letter from the Abay Dam Council of Bay Area

The Abay Dam Council of Bay Area
Tigrai Onlne - February 10, 2014

Thank you for a great event!

We are very thankful to everyone for making the “Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam: Investment Opportunities and Economic Development” a fantastically successful one.  Over 250 Ethiopian and Ethiopian-American supporters attended from all over the Bay Area and beyond.  We also had non-Ethiopians (ferenjoch) who came to learn about investment opportunities in Ethiopia.

We would like to thank our guest speakers who were truly inspirational.  Ato Zadig presented the current progress of the construction of Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD), the geopolitics of water in the Nile river basin, and the need for advocacy and participation.  The audience was surprised and excited to learn that the GERD will begin generating 750 megawatts of electricity next year!  Ato Zemedeneh spoke about investment opportunities in Ethiopia.  He discussed the indicators of economic development in Ethiopia, the same presentation he made to investment bankers in Wall Street.  The information, the data and country by country comparisons presented were invaluable to the audience.

We extend a special thank you to all those who attended, volunteers, sponsors, and everybody who made this event a grand success.  We could not have made it without your support and generosity.

For those who were unable to join us, the presentations will be available on-line soon.

Sincerely,

The Abay Dam Council of Bay Area
