President Isaias Afwerki of Eritrea denies the seriously tense military situation with Sudan and his country and blames Ethiopian government on a new interview he gave to Eritrean TV.

International news is still reporting the Egyptians are building up their military in Sawa, the Eritrean military training center not far from the Sudanese border.

Isaias Afwerki insisted it is all drama by the enemies of the Eritrean government. Especially he singled out the Ethiopian government to be behind all the alarming military build up by the Sudanese government in the border with Eritrea. Isaias denied there was no Egyptian troops in Eritrea and Al-Jazeera TV fabricated the news to blame Eritrea. He said the Qatari TV station has its headquarters in Addis Ababa purposely to target Eritrea.

The claim by the Eritrean president is contrary to the international news media outlets like CNN, Fox News, Andalu, Al-Jazeera, and BBC. According to Isaias the Sudanese must be puppets of Ethiopia that they have to follow Ethiopian orders blindly, but the fact of the matter is, the Sudanese are known for their strong intelligence apparatus. The population of Sudan in the borders areas of with Ethiopia and Eritrea are bilingual. They speak fairly good Tigringa and Amharic because of the proximity to both countries. On top of that Eritreans and Ethiopians have been living in Sudan for many years. Some tribes are found on both sides of the border so, the Sudanese can have a multilingual spies who would collect precise information about what is going on in Eritrea.

Analysts who are familiar with region are saying there are two reasons why Egypt is building up its military force in Eritrea. One it wants to intimidate Sudan for siding with Ethiopia regarding the GERD. The other reason is to pressure Ethiopia to show how serious it is about the Nile waters. The Egyptians do not understand the Ethiopia people even after they have been defeated and humiliated at the hands of the Ethiopian Emperor Yohannes IV and his famous Ethiopian general, Ras Alula (Aba Nega) Engida Equbi.
