Tigrai Online - The Great African leader and freedom Fighter (Hero of Anti Apartheid) Nelson Mandela once said: “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." This anecdote reminds us of the importance of education especially to eradicate poverty and ensure sustainable development as education is the fundamental key weapon to produce skilled man power who are able to overcome poverty and backwardness. The recently posted article at the web sites of Aiga Forum,Tigraionline and UTNA that reports the completion of Dry pit Latrine construction at Dedebit Complete Elementary School in the North Western Zone of Tigray that was financed by the UTNA. This organization helps the multifaceted socio economic activities conducted in our region.
We would like to express our heartfelt appreciation and congratulation on their successful accomplishment of what is expected of them as Tigreans and Ethiopians. We can say they are models for the other citizens or the Diaspora who are living in different parts of the world. The Federal Government allocates annual budget to every region according to their population and level of development. The budget is limited but the demand is limitless. The UTNA has made a good contribution in identifying the problems of the elementary schools of Tigray especially the scarcity of school materials in the libraries and laboratory equipment and shortage of classrooms, and others. The school materials, safe water, and lab equipments, mini media instruments have a significant role in assuring quality education. Safe water and Sanitation are also essential in making the schools suitable and environment friendly for students and teachers in general for the school community.
The UTNA together with TDA has made a significant contribution in supporting the finance for the construction of the toilets for female and male students at Dedebit Complete Elementary School. This, certainly, inspires the other Diaspora community of Ethiopians living in different parts of the world to make the necessary intervention in the designed packages of improving the educational quality throughout the country and their respective regions Therefore, UTNA have shown their commitment towards the improvement of education in our regional state. We would like to express our gratitude on behalf of the people of Tigray and the beneficiaries of the project, the school community. Well Done! Keep it up! You are the role model for the other Diaspora!
