The Federal government needs to stop the madness in Amhara state before it is too late

Patience of the people of Tigrai is limited and Tigrai government and people will not sit and wait until they are invaded. The Wolkayit, Tsegedye, Tselemti, Raya and Adi Arkai people are tired of the threat from Amharas.

The Amhara regional state and some die hard extremist Amara groups are desperately trying to destabilize the neighboring state of Tigrai state.

Amara activists and some of their politicians are hell bent on destroying the federal government in Ethiopia and to hide the legitimate identity questions in the Amahara regional state by many of the ethnic groups who are forcefully incorporated to Amhara regional state.

The Agaw and Qemant are the biggest groups who have been asking for years to have their own state. The Agaw people’s land stretch all the way from Wello in the east all the way Gojam in the west and includes the historical town of Laleybela which was built by the Agaw Kings. The Qemant’s land borders the Agaw in the south and east,Tigrai state in the north, the Amahara in south and the nation of Sudan in the west. By destroying the federal system in Ethiopia, the Amaharas think they can suppress the questions of Agaw, Qemant, Argoba and other ethnic groups. They think they can prevent the split of the state known as Amhara state, but it is inevitable fact.

Amhara activists with the full support of the state’s politicians are fabricating nonexistent identity questions in Tigrai remotely from Bahirdar and Gonder. The people of Tigrai are united more than ever before and there is not a single town or village in Tigrai with identity question.

Amhara state is spending millions of money funding these fake questions of identity. They even sent some armed groups to Raya Qobo in the past few days to provoke the people of Tigrai.

The people of Tigrai are very patient, but everyone’s patience is limited and the people and government of Tigrai will not sit and wait until they are invaded. It is about time the Ethiopian Federal government to stop the madness in Amhara state before it is too late.
