Brief poem in memory of the late Prime Minister Meles Zenawi

By Alem, Sept. 02, 2012

Where is you voice Meles?
My dear leader and beloved brother, where is your voice?
I miss your voice of inspiration and resolve,
Yes, I already miss your voice of determination and hope.
My dear leader, I miss you sense of humor,
Yes, I miss your transcending voice of courage,
A voice of the masses, the poor and the downtrodden,
A voice of Africa, Ethiopia, and its neighbors,
Even if I miss your voice in flesh,
I know, it will ring in my ears for the rest of my life.
Thank you for your generosity, as you have given so much to your people,
Thank you, as you lived your life to the fullest,
Your legacy is in our future and not in our past.
