Ethiopian ruling party, EPRDF says ready to fully implement the Algiers peace agreement

The EPRDF government in Ethiopia says it is ready to fully implement the Algiers peace agreement with Eritrea. The Ethiopian government decision took everyone by surprise because nearly two decades has passed since the agreement was abandoned by both governments. The question in many people is why now and what is the end goal of this sudden turn around by the Ethiopian ruling party?

There was not public discussion or any kind of consultation with the Ethiopian people regarding this very important decision. If this implementation includes handing Badme and other Ethiopian sovereign land, what would be the backlash in Tigrai and in Ethiopia in general. Also nobody knows how the Eritrean government and people will be reacting to the extremely late acceptance of the Eritrea-Ethiopia peace deal.

Stay tuned, Tigrai Online is gathering detail information about the issue and we will let you know what we found out.
