COVID-19 could be brought into a house by shoes and live for hours or days

If you go to places frequented by crowds like market places, grocery stores, hospitals, and other places which serve many people a day, you might bring the Corona Virus to your home by carrying is on your shoes.
The Corona Virus virions are spherical particles the measure from 0.14 microns to 0.06 microns. So far scientists say the virus is mainly transmitted by direct contact with respiratory droplets which are propelled by sneezing or coughing. When an infected person coughs or sneezes, the droplets could travel up to six feet and then they drop to the ground.
A new study published by the New England Journal of Medicine on March 17, 2020 titled “Aerosol and Surface Stability of SARS-CoV-2 as Compared with SARS-CoV-1" said “We found that viable virus could be detected in aerosols up to 3 hours post aerosolization, up to 4 hours on copper, up to 24 hours on cardboard and up to 2-3 days on plastic and stainless steel.”
The average cough can produce up to 3000 droplets and a single sneeze could produce up to 40,000 droplets. Large droplets drop to the ground fast, but finer small droplets could flout on the air for up to 3 hours. Based on the above information the chance of some Corona Virus droplets landing on your shoes is great especially if you are around tightly crowded places, for example buses, trains, Churches, Schools and so on.
If you happen to walk in an area where a Corona Virus infected person have been coughing and sneezing and some of the viruses stuck in to your shoes you wouldn’t know that. After you come home you put your shoes in the closet and wash your hands carefully, but what you don’t know is the virus is still alive on your shoes. Next mooring you get dressed and put your shoes on and you go about your business assuming your hands are clean of the virus, but are they really? They are not. While you were putting your shoes on and tying them you might have picked some of the Corona Virus that were on your shoes. Then you have contaminated your hands with the virus and the worst thing is you think your hands are clean. If you eat breakfast outside thinking you just left home and you were careful not to touch anything that would possibly be contaminated by the virus, then you have ingested the virus with your food.
There is no doubt Corona Virus can be deposited on to our shoes, but the virus will die out on its own after hours or depending the material the shoes are made with a few days. Shoes made out of natural fibers will dry and kill the virus in a few hours, but shoes made out of plastic and other syntactic materials would keep the virus alive for longer time. Experts say don’t worry too much just be mindful of this type of things that we usually don’t really think about on top of the obvious things like staying at home, washing your hands and not touching your face.
