Sudan reaffirms support for Ethiopian dam
Sudanese information minister and government spokesperson Ahmed Bilal Osman confirmed his governments support for the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam

Despite Egypt’s threatening unspecified action against the Ethiopian Dam including a military strike from certain Egyptian politicians Sudan seems standing firm on it’s stand supporting Ethiopia’s right to build the dam.

Sudanese information minister and government spokesperson Ahmed Bilal Osman confirmed his governments stand about the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam today in a joint press conference with the country’s chief intelligence service Mohammed Atta. The information minister said Sudan would benefit from the controversial Ethiopian Renaissance Dam and stressed that Ethiopia has informing Sudan in all operations associated with the dam building.

Osman downplayed fears that the dam might collapse saying the construction technology has improved and added that the Italian company which is building the dam would not risk its reputation, noting that Khartoum is keen on strengthening relations with Cairo and Addis Ababa.
