An Agreement made between Salini and Messebo Cement Factory

Messebo Cement Factory in the outskirst of Mekelle city in Tigrai state has made a contractual agreement with Salini Construction Company, the contractor of big projects in Ethiopia.

Salini Construction Company, the contractor of big projects in the nation, has made a contractual agreement with Messebo Cement Factory, a month a go, to purchase 30, 000 (300,000 quintal) of low heat, high Sulphate resistance cement to Gilgel gibie three(GG3) hydroelectric power. This is a big success for our Company which is the result of hard work and dedication of the employees and management of the company.

Salini has been working very big and important projects in Ethiopia since more that a decade ago. This Company is now constructing the renaissance Ethiopian Hydroelectric Dam that is designed to produce 6000MWatt power besides to Gilgel Gibie three hydroelectric power.

The capacity of Messebo Cement Factory is seventy thousand quintal cement per day and thus Salini is observing almost one over sixth (1/6) of the product. Messebo Cement Factory has reached producing four types of cement which are much important for various types of constructions at present. The first type of product is known as Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC), the second is Pozzolana Portland Cement (PPC), the third Portland Limestone Cement (PLC), and the fourth one is Low Heat Portland Cement (LHHSRC). These all types of cement, products of Messebo Cement Factory, are available in the market at present.

These products are quality assured and proved in the nation and abroad in Italy and United States of America, Germany and offered quality assurance Certificate. Salini has been using this special cement for its various construction sites since last June and is witnessing for the quality.

RCC Conveyors provided a series of conveyors and Concrete Placers mounted on CAT crawler chassis for this large and uniquely challenging project. Site preparation and equipment installation began in 2011. First RCC placement began on 31 August 2011.
