The Prime Minister Meles Zenawi Foundation founding congress is under way in the African Union hall in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

At the opening of the congress the current chairwoman of the African union Nkosazana Dlamini zuma, Sudanese President Omar Al-Bashir, Ugandan president Yoweri Museveni, Djibouti’s President Ismail Omar Guelleh, Somalian Prime Minister Abdi Farah Shirdon and former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo had delivered speeches.

Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegne, the late Prime Minister Meles Zenawi’s wife Weyzero Azeb Mesfin and national and international delegations are present at the founding conference.

About one thousand people are participating in the conference and they are expected to elect leaders of the Meles Zenawi Foundation.

Donations to establish the Meles Zenawi Foundation has started to come, so far $3.8 million US dollars has been donated by four sister countries: Sudan two million us dollars, South Sudan one million us dollars, Djibouti half a million us dollars and Uganda $300,000 us dollars.

We know the Ethiopian government and the founding congress will determine where the location of the foundation building should be, but if you were in the founding congress where would you suggest the Meles Zenawi Foundation center should be?
