Members of Tigrai Special Forces lost their lives around Dansha town western Tigrai

Members of the Tigrai Special Forces were ambushed when they were traveling form the town of Dansha to the town of Gichew today September 20, 2019.

The unknown assailants were shooting at Special Forces hiding in a Sorghum field atop of a truck reports from the area indicated. As a result of the ambush attack two members of the Tigrai Special Forces lost their lives and the wounded have been taken to a hospital nearby.

Recently these types of attacks are becoming very common in the area. BBC Tigringa news reported the attackers fled to Amhara regional state and the state government promised they will surrender them to Tigrai police.

 Scores of Amhara extremist armed groups have been threatening they will attack Tigrai. Some of these groups came to the border of Tigrai on many occasions. The Amhara regional state including Demeke Mekonnen the Deputy Prime Minister of Ethiopia are actively working to undermine Tigrai’s security.

We think the Tigrai government should take more assertive actions to assure the safety and security of the people in Tigrai. It is about time the Tigrai government and the TPLF stop the nonsense policy of “we are Mother Teresa of Ethiopia”.
