Millions of residents of Addis Ababa city staged a rally at Meskel Square to say “no to religious extremism” on September 1, 2013. The rally which was attended by People from all walks of life was organized by the Inter-Religious Council of Ethiopia (IRCE), an independent body established to promote and systematize interfaith learning.
For the past two years Jihadists and Wahabists have been instigating violence among the Ethiopian people especially the Muslims community.
Analysts who are familiar with the Ethiopian politics say the these few terrorists are directly supported by Ethiopian enemies Egypt and Eritrea.
A few months ago Dr. Birhanu Nega the Chairman of Ginbot-7 was heard on an audio leaked to the internet that his organization was given abou half a million dollars by Egypt through Eritrea. On the same audio Dr. Birhanu Nega said a big chunk of the money was for ESAT TV (Ethiopian Eritrean Satellite Television).
