Tigrai State government declares state of emergency to stop the spread of COVID19

The Tigrai state government declares state of emergency on Thursday March 26, 2020 to stop the spread of COVID19. The main purpose of the state of emergency is to limit the spread of the virus said Dr. Debretsion Gebremichael Deputy President of Tigrai on a statement he made on a local TV station. The emergency rule will stay for two weeks where all normal movement of people including trade, business, religious, markets weddings, entertainment and all other movements related to cultural and social activities will be limited or totally banned.

Dr. Debretsion Gebremichael said the people of Tigrai could win the fight against COVID19 if they use the same spirit they used in the time of the armed struggle and in the past two years. He also added this war is a different kind of war, it is a war where the enemy and the front lines are invisible so every single Tigrawai should fight this disease by following the rules and keep himself or herself safe.
