The United Kingdom professional Football Club Arsenal, is partnering with Dashen Beer in Ethiopia. It is the first premier league team to try to establish such a partnership in Ethiopia.

Arsenal is teaming up with Dashen Brewery to get close to its Ethiopian fan base. Dashen Brewery has a great community based presence in Ethiopia.
Arsenal chief commercial officer Vinai Venkatesham said: “Arsenal has a huge fanbase across Africa, and our support in Ethiopia stands out as particularly strong. We are delighted to be partnering with Dashen Brewery, together creating the first regional partnership for a Premier League club, in this rapidly growing and developing territory.” Said in the in the Arsenal website.
It is very natural for a sports club to work with a brewer to expand its fan base, because sports and beer go together very nicely.
Ethiopia has a number of its own Football Clubs and the Ethiopian clubs have been making a big improvement recently. Millions of Ethiopians enthusiastically follow European Football games. Arsenal also has a team member with connection to Ethiopia. The parents of Gedion Zelalem a young midfielder are from Ethiopia.
The phenomenal Ethiopian economic growth is attracting not only investment and business, but it is making the Horn of African power house a center for international institutions including sports and cultural organizations.
