Tigrai Online, Sept. 23, 2012
Sony Professional Solutions MEA (PSMEA) has been appointed by Tigrai State Mass Media Agency in Northern Ethiopia to install a turnkey HD studio facility in their new broadcast centre in Mekele.
The project with Sony PSMEA equips the regional broadcaster with three HXC-100 cameras, one MVS-6000 switcher and professional LCD monitors to support the Agency’s content creation needs.
Installation of the kit will commence on the first week of December 2012 and the installation is aimed to be completed by the first week of February 2013. Sony PSMEA will also provide a extensive training on the system to the staff at Tigrai Regional State Mass Media Agency.
Nigel Thompson, Sales Manager, Sony Professional Solutions MEA, added “Sony Professional is currently working on several HD studio and network production projects across Africa. This particular studio in Tigrai is probably the biggest in terms of studio floor area we have worked on to date, and will therefore facilitate the production of many different types of programs from simple one on one interviews to large audience participation and dramas.
"It is also encouraging to work with regional broadcasters like Tigrai Regional State Mass Media Agency who now appreciate the importance of modern production techniques and the difference that HD can make in program quality. Like all those involved in the project I am eager to see the finished studio and it’s control room being such a large and modern facility.”
