According to the Ethiopian Embassy in China, the Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, H.E. Mr. Hailemarim Desalegn is scheduled to pay an official visit to the People’s Republic of china from 12-15 June 2013 upon the invitation of the Chinese Government.
The Ethiopian Prime Minister will hold separate meetings with H.E. Xi Jinping, President of the Republic of China and the Honorable Mr. Zhang Dejiang, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of China.
H.E. Prime Minister Hailemariam and his counterpart H.E. Li Keqiang, Premier of the People’s Republic of China, will lead their respective delegations for official bilateral talks on issues of mutual, regional and global significance.
Prime Minister Hilemariam, in his capacity as the Current chairperson of the African Union, will brief the leadership of the Chinese Government of the outcome of the recent Summit of the Assembly convened at the Headquarters of the AU in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The Ethiopian Prime Minister is scheduled to deliver a speech at the Beijing Foreign Studies University on Friday, June 14, 2013 under the theme China-Africa New Strategic Partnership and Friendship for Development and Transformation. African Group of Ambassadors to China, the University Community, Chinese think tanks and research institutes, the media and other stakeholders are expected to attend the event.
During his visit, Prime Minister Hailemariam will also hold various meetings with high level Government and Party officials and businesses executives with a view to further strengthening the all-rounded economic and business ties between Ethiopia and China.
The Ethiopian Prime Minister is visits China for the first time since he took office last year.
