GERD Dam talks postponed to late October news report
Ethiopian News, Tigrai Online, October 5, 2015
The Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam is about 50 percent completed and construction continues 24 hours none stop.
Sudan and Ethiopia have requested Egypt to convene the 9th round of their tripartite meetings to late October to talk the issue of a consultation firm for evaluating the impact of the under-construction Great Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD), stated Egyptian Minister of Water Resource and Irrigation, Hossam Moghazy Sunday.
The meetings were scheduled to be held Oct. 5 in Cairo, MENA reported Egyptian Presidential spokesperson Alaa Youssef on Sept. 28. His statement came following a meeting between President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi and Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn on the sidelines of the U.N. General Assembly in New York.
As long as the construction is continuing it does not really matter what is going with talks. Once the project is completed Egypt has to come around and work with Ethiopia to get the benefits of the great river Nile. The years of intimidation and empty threats are gone now it is time work togther for mitual benfits of the people in the region.
