Tigrai Online
The Tigrai women from northern Ethiopian has been wearing braided and plaited hairdo for ages. Over many years they have developed so many styles of hairdo for every occasion. There are hairdos for weddings, for holidays and or to indicate a woman’s and young ladies material status. A white cotton dress and a unique gold or silver jewelry is worn with each hairstyle depending on the occasion.
The white women on the above photo wearing Tigrai hairdos and closing look great and the cultural hairdos and dresses look natural on them. Each woman is showing a different hairdo style. Now days there so many ways young women wear their hair. Some modern hairstyles in Tigrai are so different from the traditional hairdo our mothers and grandmothers use to wear. Some even look like French plaits.
