Ethiopia ready to start a massive $4 billion natural gas project for export via Djibouti
Ethiopia says physical work on a massive $4 billion cooperative natural gas project between Ethiopia, Djibouti, and China will soon be launched.
The announcement was made Thursday by Ethiopian Foreign Minister Tedros Adhanom at the opening of the 4th Ethiopia-Djibouti Joint Ministerial Committee Meeting in the capital, Addis Ababa.
The project is made up of a natural gas pipeline, a liquefaction plant, and an export terminal at Damerjog, Djibouti.
On a related news the 14th Ethio-Djibouti Joint Ministerial Commission meeting was held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia this week. The joint meeting concluded on Wednesday in the presence of Ethiopian Foreign Minister Dr. Tedros Adhanom, and Mr Mahmud Ali Yousuf, the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Djibouti, ministers, high-level government officials, and ambassadors as well as senior experts from both countries. The Ethiopian MInistry of Foreign Affairs said on its latest news this week.
